Rangers Shut Out Nationals To Claim Series

The Rangers claimed their series against the Nationals following a 6-0, shutout win in the finale from Arlington. Nathan Eovaldi got the win after striking out eight batters and giving up two hits over five-and-a-third innings. However, the starter left the game with groin tightness. Ezequiel Duran, Evan Carter and Marcus Semien drove in runs as part of a three-run second inning. Texas improved to 17-and-15 and trails the Mariners for first place in the AL West by half a game. CJ Abrams and Luis Garcia Jr. clubbed doubles for Washington, which was held to four hits in the game. Mitchell Parker got the loss as the Nationals sit fourth in the NL East at 15-and-16.
