Personality Bio
  • Personal:  Single, 24

    Hometown:  Austin, Texas

Education:  Texas State University; Bachelor's in Mass Communication, Electronic Media sequence (2007)

First Radio Job: 89.9 KTSW (Texas State University 2006-2007; AM 1300 "The Zone" (first professional job, 2007-present)

Why radio:  I decided to go into the sports media field when I was about 4 or 5 years old.  For some reason I have been obsessed with sports my whole life.  My oldest memory is watching NFL Gameday with Chris Berman when I was four.  Now that I look back, I can not believe that the reason why I wanted go into the sports media field is because of Chris Berman (he was the person I'd write about in those "If you could meet one person...etc.".  I really thought I would want to have a career on TV, but once I got to college I realized how much better radio is!

    I love my job because....
I watch and listen to sports all day!  To add to that, our station carries my favorite professional team, the Astros, and of course, the best university in the world, TEXAS.

Jobs other than radio: Office Manager at LUM North America currently.  Tile Setter's helper throughout college, 2002-2006.  Wrote box scores and line scores at the Austin American Statesman 2006-2008.  Umpire at Oak Hill in Southwest Austin from 1998-2007.  Pizza Delivery guy at Double Daves and Papa Johns my first year of college.

Sometimes I hate my job because.... I have not attended a Texas football game or a Houston Astros baseball game since I began working here.  But, like I said above,  I love my job because I watch and listen to sports all day. Also, if missing a game or two is my worse complaint, I think I'll be alright.

    Favorite sports memory:
To be original, my favorite sports memory is the entire 2005 Texas football season and, of course, the Rose Bowl.  Seriously though, having standing-room only tickets to the longest postseason game in MLB history was pretty unforgettable.  My buddies, brother and I finally got to sit down in the 15th inning of the 18 inning marathon between the Astros and Braves in the 2005 NLDS.

    Sports pet peeves:
pitchers who balk, prevent defenses, the BCS, the hypocrisy of the NCAA, flopping, anything Notre Dame, players who think they never commit a foul, the whole one-foot in/two-feet in difference in collegiate and professional football, baseball players who don't hustle to their positions, outs on the basepaths, umpires/refs who think they should become part of the game, Jerry Jones, Terrell Owens, excessive clebrations and unsportsmanlike conduct.
